Holly Hearon
Holly Hearon is Associate Professor of New Testament at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis.
Her interest in storytelling in the ancient world began with work on her dissertation, which resulted in the book The Mary Magdalene Tradition: Witness and Counter-Witness in Early Christian Communities. She has a chapter on women’s voices shaping early Christian traditions in Distant Voices Drawing Near: Essays in Honor of Antoinette Clark Wire (which she also edited)as well as a chapter forthcoming on the implications of orality for the field of biblical studies in Performing the Gospel: Orality, Memory, and Mark (ed. By Richard Horsley, Jonathan Draper, and John Foley; Augsburg Fortress).
Although not a storyteller, Holly has been actively involved in dramatic pursuits at various points in her life. Her current non-academic passions include gardening, travel, and piano four-hand with her sister.
